Brain tumor donations

Dear kelly,

As a father, reading Zach and Spencer Greene’s email last week really hit home for me.

My heart breaks for anyone whose child has a brain tumor. But to have two sons with brain tumors? I can’t even imagine.

As a survivor and the Board Chair of the National Brain Tumor Society, their story reminds me exactly why NBTS has recently pushed our brain tumor research efforts into overdrive.

It’s because, with so many lives and dreams on the line, you seize every opportunity to push a cure forward faster. And today, we have just such an opportunity.

As you read this, brain tumor research is on the edge of its biggest breakthroughs in twenty years. If we push those breakthroughs forward now, they could bring new treatments to thousands of patients within the next decade. But at the same moment, cuts to government research funding threaten to put the brakes on those breakthroughs.

We can’t let this happen. We must put brain tumor research into overdrive right now.

That’s why we’ve launched our A Cure Can’t Wait initiative, and set a goal of raising $150,000 by December 31st. Will you make a tax-deductible gift today to help us fund research towards a cure?

Your gift will help us counteract government research funding cuts and push forward brain tumor research breakthroughs like...

Mapping your personal genomic sequence for less than $1,000. This information is vital to understanding how your cancer developed and how you will respond to treatments.
Sequencing your predictive brain cancer biomarkers that will identify specific cancer subtypes. This helps in creating personal treatment plans.
Administering safe and effective treatments through the blood-brain barrier. This means we can work at the molecular level to find and destroy cancer cells selectively.
Streamlining the drug approval process at the FDA. This means cutting-edge research could lead to treatment options in half the time they do now.
Brain tumors can strike anyone, anywhere, at anytime. As someone who's living with a brain tumor and is active with NBTS, I see that cruel fact every day. As devastating as it is to see what families like the Greenes are up against, I am nonetheless inspired by the perseverance and generosity of our community. Today, I am more hopeful than ever that we can make a cure a reality.

At this crossroads in our fight against brain tumors, you have the power to make sure we take the fastest path toward a cure. Please, make your tax-deductible gift today
